Call for Proposals: Writer of a Publication on Youth, Peace and Security

Are you a journalist, writer or consultant that is comfortable with interviewing, analysing qualitative and quantitative data and writing accessible and interesting works? YWCA-YMCA of Sweden is looking to hire a consultant to produce a publication on Youth, Peace and Security!

YWCA-YMCA of Sweden has an ambition to work more with connecting youth work with peace work. One part of this year’s action plan is to present the international YWCA/YMCA movement’s work with Youth, Peace and Security. This will be done through a publication, the third in the series on Youth, Peace and Security. The publication should describe how and to what extent the international YWCA/YMCA movement works with Youth, Peace and Security. If you are a journalist or writer and want to discover and become connected to an international youth and peace movement, make sure to apply for this assignment!

The assignment

  • Contacting and interviewing four international partners of YWCA-YMCA of Sweden. The interviews should investigate how the YMCAs general work connects to Youth, Peace and Security.
  • Analysing the data and conclusions found and described in the YWCA-YMCA of Sweden’s survey on YWCA-YMCA movement’s work with Youth, Peace and Security.
  • Writing a publication based on the two parts described above: YWCA-YMCA of Sweden’s international partners and YWCA-YMCA of Sweden’s survey.
  • The publication should use easily accessible and journalistic language, closer to a reportage opposed to being a report.

Approximate time plan

  • October/November: Meeting and discussion with YWCA-YMCA of Sweden
  • Early December: Start of the work with the assignment
  • 30th January: First draft of the publication
  • 4th February: Comments and feedback from YWCA-YMCA of Sweden
  • 13th February: Final version of the publication

Dates are approximate and can be altered in communication between the tenderer and YWCA-YMCA of Sweden.

Submitting the tender

To answer the call for proposals, please send in your tender including the suggested budget and an idea/plan of implementation (short). Please provide examples of previous written work.
