United Nations General Assembly held it’s first-ever panel discussion on child marriage

On 5 September, 2014 in New-York the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held it’s first-ever panel discussion on child marriage. The panel, requested by last year’s first General Assembly resolution on child marriage, focused on the post-2015 development agenda and the development costs of child marriage. Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, World YWCA General Secretary was invited to speak on the panel.
